The company GERMANIA WERK Krome GmbH & Co. KG can look back on a 50 year period of successful company history. Since the beginning in 1955 starting with only 5 employees, the founding members, Fritz Krome and Arno Pirr (later it was just the Krome family who became the sole owners), with a keen sense of understanding shaped and guided the company to what it is today.

 

 

1955

17th October 1955 Fritz Krome & Arno Pirr founded the furniture factory Germania-Werk Pirr & Krome OHG in Bad Lippspringe with 5 employees.

 

 

1958
Creation of a new production facility in Haxtergrund Germania, Paderborn.

 

 

1960
Development of a manufacturing facility in Bad Lippspringe, Distelkamp.

 

 

1962
New production facility in Schlangen.

 

 

1963

Germania employees workforce of over 100

 

 

1965
Germania celebrates 10th anniversary.

 

 

 

1969
Formation of Germania Kunststoff Werk GmbH in Bad Lippspringe on Distelkamp.

 

 

1970
New production plant for Germania Kunststoff Werk GmbH in Bad Lippspringe „Mensepeter“

 

 

1971
Further plant extensions for Germania Kunststoff Werk GmbH in Bad Lippspringe „Buch“

 

 

1973-1974

Expansion of production facility in Schlangen.

 

 

1976

Co-founder and owner  Arno Pirr died in October.
Fritz Krome is now the sole owner of Germania work Pirr & Krome KG.

 

 

1977
Expansion of product range to KD furniture.

 

 

1980
Germania celebrates 25th anniversary.

 

 

 

 

1981
New production facility for Germania Kunststoff Werk GmbH in Bad Lippspringe „Richter“

 

 

1984
Company name change to Germania-Werk Krome GmbH & Co. KG

 

 

1986
New production facility for Germania Kunststoff Werk GmbH in Schlangen.

 

 

1986-1992
Continuous expansion of production facilities in Schlangen.

 

 

1993
Expansion of production facility in Schlangen through the construction of a fully automated high level warehouse.

 

 

1993
Fusion of Germania Kunststoff Werk GmbH and Germania Werk Krome GmbH & Co KG  - Based in Schlangen.

 

 

1994
Founder and owner Herr Fritz Krome died on Christmas 1994

 

 

1999
Expansion of the logistical warehouse center to a ultra modem, fully automated high level warehouse, with a capacity to store up to 200,000 pieces of Kd furniture.

 

 

 

2005
Germania celebrates 50th anniversary.
